DECRA Stone-Coated Steel Roofing in Edmonton
Iron Shield Roofing now installs DECRA stone-coated steel shingles, shakes and tiles. You get the look of a traditional roof with a Class 4 impact rating, a 2.5″ hail warranty, a 120 mph wind warranty and a lifetime limited warranty.
The strength of steel with the look of shingle, shake or tile
DECRA panels start as steel with an aluminium-zinc coating. Natural stone granules are bonded on with an acrylic basecoat and sealed with an acrylic over-glaze. The result looks like a traditional roof and stands up to hail, wind and fire. Iron Shield Roofing now installs DECRA on homes across Edmonton and area.
Why DECRA
- UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, with a warranty against hail up to 2.5" in diameter.
- Warranted for winds up to 120 mph and tested to the TAS-100 wind-driven rain standard.

DECRA Shingle XD
Thick-cut edges give the depth and shadow lines of an architectural asphalt shingle, in stone-coated steel. The natural upgrade for a home that suits a shingle look.
Made to order, with longer lead times: Woodland Green.
DECRA Shake XD
The rustic tones and texture of hand-split wood shake, with the strength of steel and none of the rot, splitting or upkeep of cedar.
Made to order, with longer lead times: Midnight Eclipse and Woodland Green.
DECRA Shake
The distinct shadow lines and rich colours of cedar shake. Unlike cedar, the colour doesn’t weather to grey.

DECRA Tile
The scalloped S-shape of a Mediterranean tile in stone-coated steel, without the cracking that clay and concrete suffer in hail.
Made to order, with longer lead times: Tuscan Sun, Granite Grey, Shadowood and Woodland Green.
DECRA Villa Tile
The curves of a Spanish barrel tile at a fraction of the weight of clay or concrete, installed directly to the deck.

How we install DECRA
Inspect the roof
We check slope, decking, valleys, penetrations, ventilation and flashing. DECRA needs a slope of 3:12 or steeper (4:12 for Shingle XD).
Pick profile and colour
We compare profiles and colours against your siding, stone and trim, and recommend viewing a physical sample before you decide.
Install the system
Panels go direct to deck or on battens depending on profile, with DECRA trim, flashing and ventilation installed to DECRA’s installation guides.
Register the warranty
DECRA warranties are registered after installation. We walk you through the finished roof and the warranty paperwork.
